About the International Federation on Ageing (IFA)

WE ARE an international non-governmental organization with a membership base of NGOs, the corporate sector, academia, government, and individuals.

WE BELIEVE in ‘generating positive change for older people throughout the world by stimulating, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information on rights, policies, and practices that improve the quality of life of people as they age.’

The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is well placed to be the global point of connection and has demonstrated over forty years of leadership. The brainchild of IFA, Action in Global Advocacy (AGA) will be an internationally recognized platform as a respected go-to for advocacy related endeavors. The IFA is one of only four international non-governmental organizations (NGO) advocating for the livelihood and wellbeing of older people around the world; and only one of 100 organizations with general consultative status at the United Nations.

At the core of our mission is “advocacy” – across top-down and bottom-up systems – and bring together experts and expertise in age-related fields of study and policy, which in today’s time…essential for nations to prosper economically and socially.

Our partnership approach is unique, in that we have a membership base of government, non-governmental organizations, industry, academia, and individuals, which
effectively positions IFA to monitor, become an advocacy conduit, and remain a grounding force for organizations aiming to fight for sight of older people.
